Could you recommend any books or articles on the morphology of the roots of teeth? It is an important topic regarding periodontology and I do not seem to be able to find much. Thank you.

Tow important attributes come to mind in this regard relative to this question...first the a passion for dental history and second the ability to read Italian, and even that is not necessary. If you can obtain a copy of the text Storia Anatomica del Sistema dei Canali Radicolari written by Nicola Perrini and published by the Societa Italiana di Endodonzia in 2010 you will find a treasure trove of documentation regarding the morphology of teeth and the challenges that we all face regardless of our dental specialty. The information is priceless as is the historical documentation, which shows us that nothing is really new and that only too often we fail to learn for the lessons of history. So wipe off the dust and good luck in your pursuits of the truth.

Quite interesting to me to find a Periodontist interested in root morphology. I recommend you a book by O. Carlsen named "tooth morphology". This book is great, though not famous as others. Carlsen has other valid contribution in the external morphological features of roots in human dentition. Indeed, I usually cite his work in my related publications.
I appreciate very much your indication. Sometimes is so easy passing by treasures of knowledge , not knowing they even existed. To my fortune, as I study in Rome, I also speak italian.
