i have modelled a simpled bolted steel beam to column joint, the beam is bolted with the column web, i am facing a problem in bolt pretension step althought i made the same model with a beam bolted to column flange with the same pretension force and it worked perfectly fine.
the warnings are :displacement for contact increment and zero pivot when processing DOF 1 2 and 3, when i cheked the odb file those nodes are located inside the bolt shank.
in the message file..the warning solver problem numericaly singularity keeps repeating, knowing that the job does not converge from the first increment, so i tried these possible solution and none of them worked:
1- i restraind the borders of the end plate in the 3 translational degree of freedom
2- i also restraing the section of the holes in the 3 translational DOf
3-i applied the load in sort of amplitude instead of one value
4-i changed the contact between the bolt shank and the from friction coefficient to frictioneless and made hard contact between nut and column and between heam and plate.
5.i have reduces the value of the force from 249571N to 1N to check if the force is too big and creating a lot of penetration
i hope you can suggest for me helpful solutions.
