Hello, what method would you use to analyse the effect of a specific genotype (wt/wt, wt/vt or vt/vt) on the phenotype (cuantitative).
I've thought of using one factor ANOVA however I want to be sure this is the correct method before starting the analysis.

I'd start with a nonlinear regression against the number of vt allels in the genotype (0, 1 or 2). This might give an impression if the effect of the vt alleles is additive (dose effect) or if ther is some counter regulation or even a synergistic effect of the alleles.
The response should have an approximate normal distribution. If this is some kind of concentration, it's likely better to use the logarithms in the analysis (or use a generalized model with log-link).

If the data has normality, then ANOVA is definitely the best, followed with post hoc tests :)
