I'd like to studying knowledge production patterns in the field of Health Communication by using bibliometric approach. My first step is to collect information of literatures. Here I want to collect all the literatures of the two most important jouranls (Health Communication, Journal of Health Communication) in this field. Then I search the rest literatures of other jouranls from Web of SCI core collection by subject"health communication". Is my way of collecting data feasible? or any other suggestion?

The key to answering this question is understanding the likely standards of your reviewers and readers. What will they consider to be an adequate search?
One thought is that if that are highly cited textbooks, you could include them through an SCI "cited reference" search. Also be sure to include a truncation character in your search term "health communication*"

Thank you very much for your suggestion to give me a new way to search for literature data. My plan it to test the knowledge production model (theory Mode 2) in the field of health communication. Mode 2 was firstly proposed by Michael Gibbons and his colleagues in 1994.
I focus on the following four questions:
1 whether the content or topic of the literature is applied
2 The cross-sectional feature of the literature
3 the interdisciplinarity of literature
4 the cross-sectional feature of citing literature (diversity assessment of literature)
I select some keywords(cover the concept and the activities of "health communication") for precise search as following:“health education”,“health promotion”,“health literacy”,
“health” and “information，education ,and communication”
“health” and “IEC”(Abbreviation of information，education ,and communication).
I got 60,000 items from above searching. Is my sample size reliable? Or do I need some other keywords to expand the sample size?
I think that sample size is more than adequate, given that you will need to screen those items for eligibility. Also you might consider specifying each of your terms (“health information” and “health communication”) rather than letting those words occur anywhere in the title, abstract, or keywords.
Another option is to seek the support of a librarian. Apart deciding your keywords and journals or electronic databases to search, the guidance of the librarian in designing the search procedure will be crucial, especially on how to combine the Boolean Operators. Good luck.
