I'm working on photocatalytic water splitting. I have to measure the H2 production by an offline method using a GC-2552TG-FID-TCD. I want to design a suitable reactor for this purpose. I search and read some paper. I have some question.

1) Is it important that the reactor be vacuumed before the reaction or is it sufficient just purge the Ar before the reaction?

2) Is a 300 mL reactor suitable?

3) Is it important to add a pressure gauge to reactor?

4) Other than using a sacrificial agent, how else can the reaction between oxygen and hydrogen in the reactor be prevented? Is there a risk of explosion (because of H2 and O2 reaction) in a laboratory reactor? What should I do to prevent of such thigs?
