Hello,

We've got a couple of fancy digital cameras to upgrade our patch clamp rigs. Although there are more pixels, while high contrast grayscale pictures look very nice and clean, lower contrast preparations (like live brain slices) are much more difficult to deal with. My concern is that our conventional computer monitors are a bottleneck as they are not fully suitable for this. Is it worth trying an expensive monochrome medical monitor? Could anyone recommend any current model of computer monitor or a panel type (i.e. IPS/MVA/TN etc)? Although our camera has been specifically designed for electrophysiology, there are no stated requirements to monitors. Also, there is no way to connect the camera to the monitor directly bypassing a computer box.

I would very appreciate any comments or suggestions.
