I am wondering what people recommend for cell killing assays and platforms. I am particularly interested in looking at T cells and using the assays/ platforms in preclinical developmnent and for testing of clinical products such as CAR or TIL etc.

I second the xcelligence. Costly, but effective.
If you're looking for something more budget conscious, consider soluble viability assays like MTS or WST-8. Or LDH as a death assay.
Finally consider time-lapse video recording as a way to validate the assays visually. The high priced option for that would be something like the Thermo CX5. Or on the low-price end just throw a phase contrast scope with a digital camera into the incubator. Cancer killing videos make great promotional material.
