We've had success with Santa Cruz Abs in a variety of rat tissues - lung, brain, in vitro cell culture models, etc... for both IHC and Westerns. Another very, very good commercial resource for purchasing these neurotrophin receptor Abs is a company out of Israel called Alomone Labs. We've also had very good results with a variety of their products for these applications. Good luck Prabahan!
I recommend an antibody database available at labome.com. For antibodies to p75NTR, you can follow this link: https://www.labome.com/review/gene/human/p75NTR-antibody.html. Abcam offers rabbit polyclonal p75NTR antibody (Abcam, ab8874) was used in immunohistochemistry - paraffin section on rat samples at 1:500 (ref.: Konig et al. J Tiss Eng Regen Med 2014). Also, Santa Cruz has goat polyclonal (C-20), sc-6188, used in immunohistochemistry - free floating section on rat samples at 1:800 (ref.: Nickerson Poulin et al., J Comp Neurol 2006). In addition, there is a BioLegend p75NTR antibody (BioLegend, 345102) used in immunohistochemistry on rat samples. EMD Millipore has a p75NTR antibody (Chemicon, AB1554) used in immunohistochemistry - frozen section on rat samples at 1:400000. Cell Signaling Technology offers a p75NTR antibody (Cell Signaling, 2693) used in immunohistochemistry - paraffin section on rat samples at 1:500. Hope this comment is helpful.
N-5408 Sigma Aldrich, that is the best in my hand for human tissues. it is raised in mouse. very short protocol for IHC because you dont have to do HIER. instead you use Trypsin for 12 mints in a 60 C degrees incubator.
