This is related to the soil contamination with petroleum and diesel having high level of TPH up to 5 - 7%. I would like to know some references on the following subjects:
1. Bench Testing of soil remediation to assess the level of contamination before and after Remediation
2. The best microbial product used for soil bioremediation

I recommend the following (my recommendation stems from our experience in remediation of thousand tons of oily sludges and contaminated soil):
ad 1) I recommend to perform respirometric tests with sludges to be treated. From the results of these tests, you can estimate the efficiency of remediation.
ad 2) Commonly the contaminated soil contains an indigenous bacterial consortium capable to degrade the present pollutant-. The results of the respirometric test (please, see ad 1)) can help you to evaluate the microbial activity, too. To use bioaugmentation with some microbial product is not necessary in many cases. Optimization of conditions for bacteria is sufficient.
