Hi all,
Ive seen everyone does BCA or Bradford assays to quantify protein for western blots. HOWEVER, when you use the abcam histone extraction kit, some samples have more GAPDH in them than others.. causing the quantification methods to be unreliable (they measure amino acids more abundant in GAPDH than histones). So has anyone overcome this and been able to accuratelty quantify histones (not GAPDH)?
Ive tried nanodrop however the histone extraction kit's buffers absorb at 205nm (wavelength of histones)..
