Volunteer Geographic Information(VGI) and Citizen Science as well as potential other crowdsourcing most desirable property is to be timely. In order to benefit from this cheap, timely information and maybe representing the power of big data, its integration needs also to be timely. As metadata on data quality, an automatic quality assessment able to fulfil this role will be contributing to an efficient data curation process.

I would add that if for more authoritative data the lack or incomplete set of metadata and particularly of metadata on spatial data quality was not crucial (though not good) as often the quality was suspected (trust) and verified from the usage of the data, on the contrary for VGI data this becomes crucial as well as the metaquality, i.e. how the quality assessment was performed. The BPMN file (and diagram) that encapsulates the workflow of the QA (see Meek et al. 2016, and Leibovici et al. 2017) acts as a mediating information which can be shared easily but also ran or re-used (BPMN editor) seamlessly.
