I did autopsy of a young lady where as per the history given by her father, they were not aware of what poison she had taken. On clinical examination, she was with constriction of pupils, increased in blood pressure, pulse and respiratory rate. Doctor started treating with atropine, pralidoxime...... She survived for about 10 days. During this treatment period, she was conscious but dis-oriented, one day she was conscious and oriented also.
I don't know it is ethical or not but it is wise to use technology so that specific treatment can be given to patients by knowing the type of poison.

It sounds like a story line from an episode of "House". I thought that real world medic's practiced evidence based treatment?
