I divide the people I have met into four categories: 1) Those who were born in the Qing Dynasty, yet none of them are alive; 2) those who were born in the Republic of China, and Mr. Gong belongs to the late Republic of China; 3) those who were born after the founding of New China to the 1980s; 4) the post-90s generation and the Generation Z. As the surrounding environment changes, so do people. Does Mr. Gong’s death represent the end of something? Perhaps we can only find people like Mr. Gong from books.

At birth we bring nothing; at death we take away nothing. Only the precious spirit can last forever.(chenhuabin20211215)
