We performed a correlation analysis of solar wind speed (Vsw) with z-component of interplanetary magnetic field (Bz) during geomagnetic storm events with different strengths. We found varying results: a bit larger correlation coefficient for some events, but also a moderate association during some events. What sort of results can we expect?

Sujan, Are you suggesting that there might be a tendency for Bz to have one sign or the other (+/-) in correlation with the velocity of the solar wind during quiet condition? You might find something like that related to whether or not you are above or below the heliospheric current sheet and the polarity of the solar magnetic field. I would be surprised, though, if you found any correlation with the sign of Bz and the speed of a CME. I'd think any correlation would be wiped out by the progression of the CME through space. If you did find a correlation, you should check if it is just a statistical accident (significance).
