I'm doing research on tunnel disasters. I performed several laboratory tests using both single and double holes models in my research to see the difference in crater/erosion created as the result of water and sand leakage. In the laboratory model used, when the water pressure of 40kpa is released and reaches equilibrium, the crater created can not be seen, therefore, I decided to do a numerical simulation to verify the results. Now the problem, in the simulation model, I filled the model with particles as was done with the lab tests using the same water pressure from the laboratory to run the simulation but when the simulation was completed, the particles keep disappearing from the model with no trace of a crater/erosion. What can be done in this regard? Your assistance is highly needed to help solve this problem. Thanks
