The AspenTech company compiled a couple of interesting exercises for old versions of Aspen Plus. Although the methods are deprecated, they still work solidly, and the methodology they employ can be used on what you need.

I don't ASPEN plus any more and have rarely used it in the past but it seems like a pretty simple problem. You have a feed and product composition you can simply interpolate between the two based on "extent of reaction" and a presumed rate expression.

If you know the kinetics use that knowledge if you don't you have to assume something. An extent of reaction based on a first order reaction of feed to products is probably the simplest assumption - it probably won't be to far off.

If you don't know the the kinetics keep your model (like simple-fist order feed=> products). If its equilibrium limited use Feed=> equilibrium product composition.

Hi, It's not that difficult to decompose it. It's just mass balance using elements. You need to know how to convert from dry to wet basis.

Find the example, where you can see how it's done. You can see under flowsheeting options, under calculator tab, there is calculation with name 'combust'
