Immediate option is the use of an insecticide, systemics are better due to long lasting action over time. Based on the degree of efficacy from observation, a second application might be needful after two weeks, if you observe further damage or
depending on rainfall frequency.
Please spray Ampligo insecticide or ivemectin or Emamectin Benzoate (57g/Kg) . three times in a week as it required.
I recommend that you apply Beta-cyfluthrin (pyrethroid) 0.05gr under the trade name bulldock. A granular stomach and contact insecticide for the control of American bollworm on tobacco and stalk borer on maize.
You my also apply Bulldock® EC 2.5%. It is an insecticide with a very good knockdown power and good residual activity at a very low dose rate. Bulldock® acts as a contact and stomach poison and has a broad spectrum of activity against chewing insects (lepidopterous larvae), beetles and sucking insects. The insecticides should be applied as foliar sprays at 600-800 lit /ha according to plant size to ensure good coverage. The insecticides acts as contact and ingestion poisoning. It acts on the insect’s nervous system as sodium channel blocker.
Specifically for European corn borer (Pyrausta nubilalis) Corn ear worm (Helicoverpa armigera ) on miaze (Zea maize). This should be applied at the rate of 500 – 750 ml / ha every 14 days. The insecticide is moderately hazardous but highly effective on chewing insects on most crops.
