As a postgraduate researcher, I am working on SOA and their precursors. Primarily, I will work on the formation of SOA as new ultrafine particles in urban areas. It is assumed that the main precursors of SOA in urban areas are anthropogenic pollutants (e.g., traffic emissions).
It will be great for me if I could get more ideas about SOA through RG discussion.

Look at the vapour pressure of the pollutants and their product of oxidation and you get list of highly condensable candiates for nucleation.
The second reactants are strong oxidants e.g.OH radical, ozone, peroxyradicals. Look at their possible sources and condition of formation, actinic flow., temperature and humidity.
You also need to keep in mind that in addition to chemical reactions, there are also competing physical phenomena taking place that impact UFP formation and loss (heterogenous nucleation, adsorption/absorption with other ambient aeorols, evaporation).
Thanks much for the in depth discussion. At this stage, I have about one year dataset of a recently finished project, containing UFP (number concentration), NOx, CO, traffic volume of the area, PM10, PM2.5, solar radiation, wind speed, etc. Considering such measured parameters, I have to focus on new aerosol (SOA) formation pattern in that urban area.

Thanks for your suggestion. Actually, using R statistical soft., I have already produced many time-series graph which reveled the overall pattern of the data. At this stage, I am very curious to know any way to plot long tem measuremnt data on the local map of that particular site.

Don't forget to include biogenic precursors (monoterpenes, isoprene) in your analysis. There is a wealth of articles on field and chamber studies by PSI, Uni Manchester, KIT, FZ Jülich, Uni Helsinki, IfT Leipzig and many others you may want to look at. And of course, it doesn't stop with the type of precursors (sources) but gets particularly interesting when it comes to reactions and formation (e.g. via nucleation or condensation pathways).
