Not surprised at all. It seems to me that the idea of sharing information about yourself on a "social" platform invites a sharing of data. I think the disturbing part is the selling of that info. Shouldn't the user be entitled to a part of the profit of that data? Is it Facebook's' data to sell, or mine?

I am not surprised. I expected that stealing personal data would be also possible in the environment of social networks. Freedom of Internet means freedom of owners from responsibility and obligations.

No. It is not surprising. When we provide information about ourselves on the social media platforms, we are agreeing to any form of use of our data because we do not have control over how our data is being seen/used by other people. I believe that the best way for anyone to safeguard his/her data is to make conscious effort in thinking about the consequences of any information that is going to be publicized.
