For 6061 Aluminium alloy the precipitates are Mg2Si. I am carrying out my research to understand Mg2Si behavior during different deformation temperature, strain and strain rate in forging process. The major parameters are its size distribution and spacing.
My question is how important is Precipitation Behavior in performance of all alloys?

The effect of the precipiattes in the mechanical properties of alloys is often discussed in physical metallurgy textbooks, and in classical papers for specific alloys. I believe you may easily track the subject in the literature, starting, for instance by the Metals Handbook.

I am actually carrying out computational modeling for al alloy deformation where in all the research is focussed on Zener hollomon / grain size but none able to give relation between deformation parameters ( Strain , Temperature and Strain rate ) on precipitate behaviour . Can you pl guide me on this aspect ?
