How can we conceive of an organisation? Organisations may be thought of as unitary monoliths or perhaps more usefully they may be conceived of as being formed by components. What are the appropriate sub-units, sub-components or sub-categories of an organisation when attempting to understand both organisational function and how humans operate within an organisation?
I would say that you need to go all the way back to considering what really constitutes human organized activity in general. To me this means to inquiry into our neurobiological, phylogenetically evolved capabilities enabling and constraining human action. In my research, this approach led to the notion of "activity domain" as the core organizational unit. Admittedly, it is hard to make sense of this in a short answer, but you can find more substantial material in the references published in ResearchGate.

Research in the organisational categories is depended on the structure of the organisation & the chart relevant there with .The purpose & end of the company -organisation generally reflected in their manual & other data.
We are living in the competitive age of the present century & in business groups we can not effort to keep in isolation .
In the line with the present chart we have to study ,review & make all the development & changes in the line with the growth of company ,& if we make our performance in above spirit ,we can certainly meet our competition in the present age.
Thank you Rohit, what I am interested in is can we conceive of organisations being formed by sub-categories of activities and/or responsibilities? I do not just mean "administration' "production" and categories like this as these may be less applicable to new cyber organisations. Although, perhaps these categories do work as a starting point?\
