For my employer (Geological Survey of Norway - NGU), I am looking into options for a new SEM instrument and several types of detectors. The SXES detector by JEOL has drawn my attention, possibly as an alternative for our current WDS.

Most of the literature I have been able to locate seem to represent 'application notes', which are useful in their own right. However, I would like to learn about 'field experiences' with that type of detector, also if they would be third-party alternatives from a different brand.
