In tissue culture, the use of antibiotics or preservatives is generally avoided. However, latent bacterial or fungal contamination can still occur when isolating explants. I am interested in whether treating source plants in greenhouse pots with preventive measures (such as specific chemicals or antibiotics) a few days or weeks before isolation could help reduce or eliminate internal contaminants. Recommendations or suggestions from experience would be greatly appreciated.
