In order to provide an analytical and structured form to experiences that are perceived or experienced by participants in a holistic dimension and in terms of flow, what are the most effective research methods?
Hello Mauro Carboni, Can you group likert scale type experiences into categories such as yes or no by grouping or disease or no disease and then do a frequency histogram or chi squared analysis. How many categories do you have? Thanks Debbie
First of all, thank you for your attention to my question.
I know well the applications of inferential statistics in determining the quantitative representations (mathematically determinable according to measurable dimensions) of qualitative phenomena.
The problem that I (in my case concerns the perception of educational relationships within empathic bodily environments, especially as inclusive interactions) is something that precedes categorization processes and classification.
Concerns precisely the model (or paradigm) of search to be taken in dealing with events that occur as a stream and not as individual distinct entities.
Hi Mauro, I would say qual research methods are the most appropriate; IPA, Grounded Theory, content and thematic analysis or meta-ethnography could be used to analyse such data.. cheers, Paul
But as regards statistical tools, which are the most appropriate to achieve a deep analysis of phenomena and experiences that can be lived only without interruption (where the data cannot be separated)?
Hi Mauro, not sure if I understand your question correctly... there is no stats per se when it comes to qual analysis; there is rather interpretation of meaning, understanding of context, constructs, phenomena, etc. hope that helps, all the best, Paul
I'm sorry! I haven't written in a comprehensible manner,
my reflection wants to focus attention on the possibility of going beyond the interpretative aspects in qualitative analysis of experiences,
considering the definition or creation of new analysis tools, tailored to address the study of complex phenomena, that are experienced and perceived in a dimension of flow and continuity,
for example,
the Taiji or Qigong (which you have studied well)
how to analyze the qualitative and quantitative improvement of the circulation of Qi,
how studying the perception of Dan Tien,
how to observe and understand the gestural quality?
