of course, professor. In first instance, we are going to create a mini field guide for a paramo location near to Bogota, Colombia, but we are planning also to start collection in some other places. Instituo de Ciencias Naturale's collection also have some forgotten paramo material, that we will classify and organize during the next months. I hope we would have plenty of carabids samples after that.
We work in Siberia, our plots are situated beggining from Baikal lake till 2000 m altitude. May be, we ll organize comparitive study of beetles diversity in altitude gradient?
Our plots will be beginning from 3400m to 3700m, at least for the work of this semester. After that, we will still collecting mainly from 3000m and upper. We could eventually organize comparative studies, but i think we are working at different heights and environments. Nevertheless i think a comparision would be very interesting, since i saw a work wich compared paramo with himalayan diversity.
Hi Raisa, I suggest you to contact Pierre Moret (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Pierre_Moret), we are cooperating to a common project on carabid beetles diversity and distribution along several altitudinal gradients in tropical andes (Ecuator). Best wishes, Mauro
