Are there any studies/research/journal articles that use XRF analysis instead of AAS analysis for adsorption/biosorption studies?

Usually, AAS has been used to determine metal concentration. However, my university's AAS has been having problems. Are there studies of biosorption/adsorption that use the XRF to quantify metal concentration?
