Some research topics are highly feminized, since most researchers are women. Femminist theorists have argued that this occurs because most men are not interested in 'gender issues' such as gender based violence. Others have argued that values matter more than numbers: what makes a difference is not the female/male ratio among researchers but if they approach the topic from a femminist research perspective or not. Anyhow, according to previous studies would it be positive to have more gender balanced research fields? and if so, why would we need more male researchers investigating gender issues?
