I am looking for recent values of the electron impact ionization cross-section of noble gases in general, and especially for Argon and Helium gases. Most of the references that I found are old or containing just some equations without clear values.
Are there any recent references about this topic, especially those containing data tables?

I believe that best measurements have been done some time ago and there is no need to repeat. Especially Tillman Maerk measured ionization to different ions. From the plasma modelling point of view you can find a lot of different data in LxCAT. our data are not included but that is a long story. So to answer your question I do not think that any new measurements would be better!. There is some theory by the likes of Barschat and Bray and Fursa who may also calculate ionization from the excited states that may be used for stepwise ionisation. the answer really depends on what you need the cross sections for!

Article describes research information about the Total electron-impact ionization cross sections of helium. The measurements yield a common scale of total cross sections for EI. Total EI cross sections of He are found to be in excellent agreement with the recent results of Rejoub et al (2002) who measured EI cross sections with quoted relative uncertainties of 5% in the electron energy range from the ionization threshold to 1000 eV using a traditional method and modern experimental techniques. I agree with the opinion of Zoran Lj Petrović that for noble gases, including Ar and He, the values of the electron impact ionization cross-sections, in general, are well established (with rare exceptions for specific excited states), and in principle, you can get well-verified data for modeling low-temperature plasma, using the resources of the LXCat web-platform, created at the CNRS LAPLACE lab in Toulouse by Dr. Leanne Pitchford and others for use in scientific research, i.e. for non-commercial use.
