I would like to measure effect on various perchlorate salts on various proteins properties along a 20-95°C thermal shift. The proteins will exposed to low concentrations of perchlorates (max 0.5-1M) and everything happens in aqueous solution.
Is this safe ?
Dear Carré Lorenzo many thanks for your interesting technical question. Generally, perchlorate salts, especially those of organic cations and ammonium, should be regarded as potentially explosive. However, this is only important for solid salts. As long as you work with perchlorate salts in aqueous solutions there is absolutely no danger.

It's just important that you don't evaporate your solutions to dryness. Aqueous solutions present no dangers / problems.
