Are there any methods for age heaping in R that are better than Sprague and Myers?

Age heaping. Sprague and myers are available in R. I have peaks in the age distribution at every 5 years. Is there more or better methods available?

Since Sprague needs 5 years data it seems not to be optimal since I have the whole age distribution but with peaks, often every 5 years. The question is, is there is better methods available.
