I have been collecting sediments in Indonesia for the purpose of having pollen analysis done on them. Currently samples are in vials and each vial is stored in individual plastic sample bags. I have just looked at some of my sample vials and noticed that there is a bit of condensation in the vials. As I am still in the field for another month I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there are any procedures that can be used in the field to dry out the sediments or absorb the moisture without contaminating the samples by just opening the vial up to the air?
