Hey guys,

I am trying to get good results for my 7 kb RNA on a denaturing formaldehyde gel. Until now with very limited success. The signal is very weak, can be improved with huge amounts of RNA (4 µg), but then the bands get smeary.

However, my question is: we are using ethidium bromide (EtBr) for the formaldehyde gels and I am wondering if there is an alternative. For example Midori Green Advance (Nippon Genetics), which we are using for the normal gels.

Anybody experience with that?

Thanks a lot in advance!
