I am looking for possible network simulation software that able to incorporate with autonomic computing with robust and dynamic features . Such as adding new modules , enhanced the existing frameworks and etc. I have my own experience using OPNET Modeller ( now known as Riverbed Modeller ) , Packet Tracer ( Cisco ) , Ns2 and Ns3 ( trying to avoid this because my target simulation is the ISP environment with autonomic computing approach . Looking forward more enterprise version rather than open source ). Thanks in advance
Hi Ahmad, I think there are a few resources to explore like PYCX (see link below), which is used for simulating CAS. A subset of CAS involves network interactions, which I believe this software addresses. You may want to first explore the intersection of simulation and CAS and then determine how this simulation can be mapped to a specific set of scenarios (tied to a tool and/or environment - like CISCO routing protocols)

Thanks Vikas Gupta , i am looking into OPNET seriously since my previous academic and working background really using that software. I'm eager to know whether we can do some module development into existing OPNET framework especially it is Academic Edition. Can we temper the running framework with our own modules?
