Hello! I'm taking an internship in Social Psychology Laboratory and researching Impulsive Buying. However, it seems that little research gathers information about these two variables together. Me and my professor would really like to know more about this.

To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a specific study investigating parental status and impulse buying. However, if you circumscribe the issue only in terms of age, there is evidence of an inverse relationship between impulse buying behaviour and age. These are two notable meta-analyses you might refer to:
- Iyer, G. R., Blut, M., Xiao, S. H., & Grewal, D. (2020). Impulse buying: a meta-analytic review. Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, 48(3), 384-404.
- Amos, C., Holmes, G. R., & Keneson, W. C. (2014). A meta-analysis of consumer impulse buying. Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, 21(2), 86-97.
This phenomenon finds support also in the broader behavioural literature. Young adults show the tendency to experience stronger biological drive for novel activities, while their risk assessment capabilities are not fully developed (Spear, 2000).
