The study has shown that cell phone radiation inhibited root growth by affecting respiration of the root and excessive leakage of ions (charged particles),". "The observed reduction in germination and early growth of moong upon exposure to cell phone radiation is being reported for the first time." Radiation increases ion leakage and ultimately causes breakage of cell membranes, the scientists explained. It causes certain oxidative stress, which naturally occurring anti- oxidant enzymes could not protect.

This study, researchers said, was important in view of the rapid increase in cell phone radiation in the natural environment and its possible impact on ecosystem processes and environmental health. It implied a need for environmental risk assessment caused by electromagnetic radiation from phones and cell phone towers, so that strategies can be devised to check electromagnetic pollution in the natural environment.

Remedies

To prevent overlapping high radiations fields, new towers should not be permitted within a radius of one kilometre of existing towers. If new towers must be built, construct them to be above 80 feet and below 199 feet … to avoid the requirement for aviation safety lighting,”

The 3 expert agencies that usually classify cancer-causing exposures (carcinogens) – the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the National Toxicology Program (NTP), and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – have not classified cell phone towers as to their cancer-causing potential.

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has said this about cell phone towers near homes or schools:

“Radiofrequency emissions from antennas used for cellular and PCS [personal communications service] transmissions result in exposure levels on the ground that are typically thousands of times below safety limits. These safety limits were adopted by the FCC based on the recommendations of expert organizations and endorsed by agencies of the Federal Government responsible for health and safety. Therefore, there is no reason to believe that such towers could constitute a potential health hazard to nearby residents or students.”

About RF radiation

Some of the agencies that classify cancer-causing exposures have, however, made statements about radiofrequency radiation.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified RF fields as “possibly carcinogenic to humans,” based on limited evidence of a possible increase in risk for brain tumors among cell phone users, and inadequate evidence for other types of cancer. IARC also noted that exposure to the brain from RF fields from cell phone base stations (mounted on roofs or towers) is less than 1/100th the exposure to the brain from mobile devices such as cell phones.

Some people are concerned about potential health effects, especially on the developing brains and bodies of children. Some studies suggest that heavy long-term use of cellphones could have health effects. Other studies don't find any health effects from cellphone use. Long-term studies on animals exposed to the RF found in wireless networks (Wi-Fi) have, so far, found no health effects. Scientists continue to study the effects of long-term exposure to low levels of RF.”

None whatsoever, the energy of the photons emitted is far to small to damage DNA and give any lasting damage.  If you get so close that you overheat your tissue you will get a burn but be aware that you will not feel that if it is internal

To do damage, the photon energy must be great enough to remove an electron from a molecule, at least a small fraction of an electron volt.  E = h*nu.  1000 MHz is too small to do any harm..

Cell towers act as hubs for radiofrequency interaction. This is because all calls made and received within a particular field where a cell tower is cited, the wave  carriers must first hit the antenna before reaching the end users. one of the effects is thermal heating of body tissues within the field of interaction. However, previous researches have not been able to substantiate that non ionizing radiation like those associated with cell towers can cause such lethal effect as you have proposed.

There is likely to be a greater RF radiation level from your mobile handpiece, held right up to your head, than there is from a mobile phone tower.

To find whether field or frequency is prominent for biological effect- it is required to analyze  the radiation density. It is related to field and radiation those also depend on frequency. For near field even low frequency and high field is dangerous in terms of analogues  heating impact. For far field concept frequency domain radiation causes dielectric heating impact. The dissipation at localized tissue may dangerous.  But the far field concept, stronger field and high frequency even more dangerous for any sort of biological effect.

The frequency of the radiation has to be  high enough (E = h*nu) so that the energy is high enough to remove an electron from a molecule--about a fraction of an electron volt.  The power, of course, could cause damage if, as noted above, if it is high enough to cause significant heating.

The energy of RF waves given off by cell phone towers is not enough to break chemical bonds in DNA molecules, which is how these stronger forms of radiation may lead to cancer. A second issue has to do with wavelength. RF waves have long wavelengths, which can only be concentrated to about an inch or two in size.
