When exposing bacterial cells (washed, supernatant free) to seeds it stimulate germination and other seedling parameters (out of soil).
It´s known that bacteria release gibberellins, IAA, cytokinins, etc to the culture media. what can happen when they are washed, media free? Any PGPR trait linked to cell wall ? proteins, peptides?
Because I have found works related to ISR, but not exactly to direct plant growth promotion.
Any suggestion??
PGPR should be able to colonize and proliferate in the rhizosphere, during this the PGP traits are expressed
Very interesting answer by Dr Hani . Frankly speaking , yes , PGPR traits are linked to bacterial living cells , since these PGPRs will necessarily be the colonizers of rhizosphere , rhizoplane etc.
