There have been some unclarities on the electronic properties of MWCNTs in literature - especially the ones at my disposal. While some literature suggests that MWCNTs have complex electronic properties - as they can either be metallic or semi-conductive, due to the different chirality of the single-walled CNTs (SWCNTs) they are made of, others claim that MWCNTs are dominantly metallic.
Hence, I seek clarification on the electronic properties of MWCNTs. Making reference to a paper (s) would go a long way.

The bandgap from the chirality goes down with increasing radius. So the outermost wall in multiwalled tubes will in general have a rather small bandgap from chirality alone. Thus they can appear as metallic at room temperature. We have however seen that a limited crystallinity can induce a bandgap, via a quantum confinement effects, thus greatly reducing the conductivity of the outermost layer in MWCNTs: Article Influence of crystallinity on the electrical conductivity of...
