Mysteriously enough there is not much that can be found on the internet when it comes to the predatory behavior of this publisher. They are for example not mentioned in the Beall’s list (https://beallslist.net ). However, there are numerous red flags:
-Contact info: 2055, Limestone Rd Ste 200C, Zip Code 19808 Wilmington, Delaware, USA is in Delaware (known for providing fake addresses) and is at best a virtual office
-Indexing info for their journals (https://journals.e-palli.com ) is full of so-called misleading metrics (https://beallslist.net/misleading-metrics/ ) such as ESJI, CiteFactor etc. often used by predatory journals/publishers
-APC of 30 USD is (for a supposedly American Publisher) suspiciously low
-For example “American Journal of Agricultural Science, Engineering, and Technology (AJASET)” (https://journals.e-palli.com/home/index.php/ajaset ) is already active since 2014 and still no serious indexing (like Scopus, Clarivate’s SCIE or not even their ESCI index)
-A quick look at the journal and I already identified ‘issues’, take for example the e-Palli journal:
Edem, I. D., Edem, S. O., & Ijah, C. J. (2015). RELATIONSHIP OF LANDSCAPE POSITIONS WITH SOIL PROPERTIES ON MAIZE YIELD IN ULTISOL. American Journal of Agricultural Science, Engineering and Technology, 2(4), 22-41.
which is the duplicate version of the original paper:
Edem, I. D., & Udo-Inyang, U. C. (2012). Relationship of landscape positions with soil properties on maize (Zea Mays L.) Yield in Ultisol. Basic Research Journal of Agricultural Science and Review, 1(4), 69-76.
Suspiciously enough the E-Palli version is not accessible on their own E-Palli website… (https://journals.e-palli.com/home/index.php/ajaset/article/view/29
If one look any further, I am sure more issues can be found. So, I would say avoid this one.
E-Palli Publishers is not a well-known publisher, I cannot find any information on the publisher's reputation. Predatory publishers often have a negative reputation in the academic community and have been found to engage in unethical practices such as charging authors exorbitant fees to publish their articles, failing to properly peer review articles, and not adhering to open access policies. While a lack of information does not necessarily indicate that E-Palli Publishers is predatory, it is important to exercise caution when considering publishing in a journal from an unknown publisher.
The journals from E-Palli Publishers are not in any predatory list. The journals maintains the quality of the articles highly. Their review system are clearly blind peer reviewed. The articles, they are publishing, are highly impactful. I think you should see the articles from their journal first, you will understand.
It is always possible that you personally had a good experience with them, but this does not say much about the overall operation of this publisher. Do have a careful look at my previous reply and agree that there are (too many) dubious aspects related to this publisher.
I did a literally ten minutes additional search and identified another issue of plagiarism by an e-Palli journal, just compare the original paper:
Khandaker, S., Hassan, J. A. H. I. D. U. L., & Saha, G. C. (2013). Effect of textile dyeing wastewater on growth, yield and nutritional qualities of stem amaranth. Int. J. Agric. Sci. Res, 3(3), 171-178.
and the plagiarised paper in the e-Palli journal
Khandaker, S., Hassan, J., Saha, G. C., Kamal, M. Z. U., & Bhuiyan, A. H. (2015). The Effect of Textile Dyeing Wastewater on Growth, Yield and Nutritional Qualities of Indian Spinach. American Journal of Agricultural Science, Engineering, and Technology, 2(6), 1-11.
Personally, I would avoid a publisher that performs/allows such blunt practices of scientific misconduct.
Best regards.
PS. I am not here to convince you not to defend them, but just try to warn other researchers to be careful and make conclusions for themselves.
If you have proof of such misconduct, kindly inform the management of that particular publisher. After proper reviewing, If they don't withdraw the plagiarized paper, you can complain or share publicly I guess. I think you can contact them and complain about the misconduct.
As per my concern, E-Palli Publishers is new in the academic publishing world. They are working on improving the quality of the journals. They have valid registration, ISSN, and Crossref, and working on some reputed indexing. I think it is better to complain to the management about any misconduct or issues related to the publisher to acknowledge their response on that particular issue.
I had good experience with them. No problem was detected in my publication. It's also author's responsibility to submit an accepted percentage of plagiarism manuscript. Yet some people can have negative experience. In such a circumstance, management should be notified. I believe, E-Palli publishers have a chair of editors, reviewers, and employees striving to improve the quality and give these issues an attention. I trust if they see this discussion here or anyone notifies them, they will handle these matters seriously.
I've gone through their review process and I feel they are good. What I notice is that they're still coming up. They have a few journals that just got registered with them and so the problems seen may be as a result of initial pickups typical of beginners.
Overall, I would say that they have great potentials and are good.
Your answers seems very constructive and well-explained. Hence, I am reaching out to you regarding another journal called " North American Academic Research NAAR". Is this journal predatory? Link to find it here: https://twasp.info/journal/about
The journal “North American Academic Research” as well as the publisher “TWASP” cannot be found in the Beall’s list (https://beallslist.net ). This might be comforting, but there are quite some red flags though, for example:
-If you Google the contact info “34 Wolf Rd Colonie, NY 12205, United States” it does not seem to render something real
-The editorial board info mentions Philip Cardinal, I suspect that this is a non-existing person (it is a claimed Prof. but this cannot be confirmed by searching the internet)
-The editorial board (if real) has no link to North America, which seems to suggest that the people behind it originate from elsewhere, why hide you might wonder
-A serious issue is the false claim of an impact factor (of 3.50). You can check here https://mjl.clarivate.com/home that this journal is not indexed in Clarivate’s SCIE/SSCI and ESCI so by definition they cannot have an impact factor
-Talking about indexing their indexing info https://twasp.info/journal/indexing mentions for example DRJI, a notorious example of a so-called misleading metric (https://beallslist.net/misleading-metrics/ ) often used by predatory journals/publishers
So not sure whether predatory is the correct label but personally I would avoid this one.
Best regards.
PS. This matter is discussed in the following question here on RG as well https://www.researchgate.net/post/Any_one_know_about_North_American_academic_research_journal_from_TWASP
The E Palli Journals are not included in Beallslist, so I have gone through some additional check in the Journal website, the DOI is OK for each paper as well as papers are available in Google scholar and when ever you send your manuscript for publication, the board and reviewers comments are properly given. all the manuscript plagiarism process are appropriately considered thus I wont say predatory but fair for publication
