DE is the mysterious force accelerating the expansion of the universe. Treat DE as one conceptual reference frame where space between galaxies grows over time. In the gravity reference frame galaxies separated but close are moving toward each other.

In the gravity reference frame it appears that DE is causing space to grow between Earth and distant galaxies.

Invert the conceptual reference frames. Suppose we take the increasing radial distances accounted for by the idea of DE as unchanging. One might say that stipulates that the accelerating space is going to be treated as an inertial reference frame. Use that as a conceptual reference frame.

Then the space between celestial objects such as galaxies would be a shrinking proportion of space distances, relative to the distances in the universe in the RF of the expanding universe being treated as unchanging.

Suppose a person is moving with the accelerating expanding 3 dim space. How do things look relative to the person, for galaxies separated by space, in the rear view mirror so to speak. The galaxies would seem to be moving closer since the distances separating them relative to the expanding space reference frame is shrinking. As if the separated galaxies were attracting each other.

In summary. Assume that the way gravity describes the relationship between galaxies is the conceptual place we say is fixed, and space expands on that assumption. Then invert the conceptual reference frame, treat expanding space as the stationary bench mark, the constant feature of the universe we live in, and look how gravity appears.

This is just a different way of looking at expanding space. I doubt this perspective as it is takes us very far, but wonder if such an approach with work, improvement and refinement might lead anywhere useful.
