I want to convert a carboxylic acid into Thio Acid using Lawesson's reagent. Based on the literature, this reaction requires a microwave reaction with Dichloromethane as an organic solvent, at 100 deg C for 10 minutes. The paper that I am referring to, doesn't provide complete information about this process. They just mention "A solution of carboxylic acid (0.50 mmol) and Lawesson’s Reagent (0.55 equivalence, 0.28 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (2.0 mL) in a sealed tube (for microwave reaction) was subjected to microwave irradiation (100 oC, 10 min). I wanted to enquire whether glass vials (with PTFE Teflon rubber caps) are suitable for this reaction in a microwave? Considering the low boiling point of DCM, is this reaction at 100 deg C possible in a sealed tube?
