I guess, it depends on the atmosphere that they are belonging to. Children, always, in all situations, are the reflection of their own other family members. Those are the main effectiveness of children at home. For kids, staying home orders are slightly a "Mess", and nonsense. So, as we are dealing with such pandemic, we have to keep an eye on them, ALWAYS. THAT MATTERS FOR SURE.
There is nothing to generalize. Probably this is the longest period when my son is getting the company of both father and mother which he did not get since his birth.

It will be decided by individual temperament of children and adult, both. Usually children do not feared until they are really unaware of anything so there might be chances that they could think about the severe circumstances of Covid 19 unlike adults, who analysis very deep for Covid 19, which will create a good amount of fear and anxiety to do any work.
I don't think that children are psychological affected with covid 19 because they are relived from their school burden and now they are spending quality time with their parents.
In my opinion, the child attitude to the virus is almost entirely dependent on how the adults around react it. If they don't respond, then the child does not even guesses about some threat. If the adults' responses are too emotional, then the child feels him/herself in danger so much that he or she might be traumatized psychologically.
With the COVID19 pandemic happening now as well as the lockdown which is strictly implemented, the children is definitely psychologically affected of all the circumstances. However, as other colleagues says, that will depend to the adult on how they can explain well to their children politely.
Children often take cues from their parents. If parents are overly fearful and demonstrate this overtly, children will pick this and get afraid as well. If parents approach the topic with calm and are able to provide children with information in appropriate language that is not panic inducing- children will cope. It also depends on the activities the parents are providing to keep their children engaged during lockdown. All of this of course would apply to children who had no anxiety issues prior to lock down and whose families are functional. Naturally children with pre-existing anxiety disorders will need utmost care at this difficult time
It is not currently possible to find an answer to this question. The next years will show us its real effects. However, I think that the way children make sense is very important.
How the children make sense situation and condition depend for the parents and how they get the impact. Stress, Anxiety, Deppression..are contagious diseases too
Children will be more affected when their parents lose jobs and are unable to provide food on the table. The children are not able to understand why but parents know the problem and are able to deal with their problems.
