To write a paper we use a lot of articles and many of them don't have an impact factor, but in those papers there is still a lot of knowledge and inspiration. Otherwise, there are a lot of articles without an impact factor that are very good articles and they are named “grey literature” because they are not accessible due to that they are not available to others, e.g., the articles that have an impact factor.
I think the Impact Factor (IF) does not refelect the scientific value of a publication.
It seems to reflect the distribution value of a Journal ( number of readers? )
Science and Nature have extremyl high IF. Those Journals you will find everywhere.
Biophysical Journal- with no doubt the TOP Journal in Biophysics- has an IF of about 3 to 4. Some of the open Journals, have an amazingly increasing IF.
I never choose a Journal because of its IF, but if it fits to the research which was done.
@Nitish: if one pulishes a gentical sequence in Nature it just get a much higher IF as compared to a specialized Genetic Journal. Thats LIFE ;)

There are lot of research papers that reveals enormous knowledge to become an expertise on the topic. In general, the research papers with less IF means less peer reviewed and articles are cited very less by the outside world. Nowadays the list of fake journals are dramatically increasing so the Impact Factor provides the trust on the research journal papers.

Unfortunately impact factor is not a very accurate description of the quality of the paper. Though it provides some guideline, it is not absolute. I do not bother about the impact factor while looking at a paper for my reference. I need to look at the content and how much it correlates with the subject matter that I am looking. I am confident that I can judge the quality from the content of the paper and not from its origin. I sometimes also use conference papers which do not have any impact factor. I did not hear this so called “Gray Literature” concept.
According to me, Impact factor is a theoretical issue. It is the choice of the reader which decides this.
When you read any paper practically without knowing its Impact factor, your analysis will be different.
So, according to me, it is not always true that articles having a higher impact factor better than those having a minor impact factor.

I think the judge of any paper depends on the quality of the information and knowledge that have, not on the journal that published it. If we scan some research papers that published before "Impact Factor" appears, some of them are good papers but thay haven't impact factor. So, it is not necessary that articles having a higher impact factor better than those having a minor impact factor or even those which haven’t impact factor.

Your question is "loaded": it states your opinion through its very formulation. However, I completely concur with your opinion, so I upvoted it!
When I write, my theme takes control of me and I must get the article (or book) into print as soon as possible. I don´t look at anything as mechanical as "Impact Factor." I look at the quality of the editors as scholars and as persons. That is the alpha and omega of my publishing practices, which allow no room for an impact factor.
The paper containing authentic information you needed is the best without any doubt, whether it have impact factor or not.
I evaluate paper with its content.
Some of the best papers I have come across in my research topics did not have a large number of citations but overall they were published by highly regarded IF journals. Nevertheless, I consider this metric only indirect and circumstantial, given factors such as the novelty of topic, timing, content quality, pre-existing research and literature.
