Industries can be Diagnostic lab services, Chemical Manufacturers, Pharmaceutical/Biomedical imaging services, Agro/farm industries or Animal Veterinary services to name a few. A few examples: separation columns, magnetic chelating agents, lateral flow assays etc. I ask this question because I see a lot of excitement about nanoparticles in different academic labs. But I am hardly seeing much interest in applications of nanoparticles beyond academics labs.
If you are interested in bionanoparticles I can give some information.
Nanoparticles are almost used everywhere - try to see it in a different light and look e.g. for colloids - this is nothing but some kind of nanoparticle. And in paints, medicine, sensors, etc nanomaterials are already in use! In addition, in steels, some nano-precipitates are responsible for the mechanical properties (e.g. brittleness) of the steel. This is quite important e.g. for steels used in nuclear plants in the hot zones (pressure vessels etc).

At least I know that nanoparticles are using in lubricators as an additive, paint industry and also electronic industry.
Thank you all. Volker and Dirk, I am always looking for new opportunities. But this question came about because my experience with nanoparticles (colloids) has been purely in the academic lab. So I have made nanoparticles and used them for their plasmonic properties or magnetic properties and as bioconjugated labels. I just wanted to see a more larger picture of their applicaitons and hence figured ResearchGate would be an ideal forum to pose the question.
Nanoparticles are really in use "everywhere"; the biggest amount is probably carbon black (in tires, black paints etc). By the way: pigments are normally (maybe always) NOT nanoparticles, but microparticles, otherwise they would not scatter the light.
nanoparticulate TiO2 (which as nanoparticle is THE white pigment) is a powerful UV absorber (and transparent because of nanosize, it is not white any more!) and is used in sunscreen cremes.
Food contains lots of different nanoparticles.
And some more specific and new stuff is the Organic Nanometal Polyaniline (which I have been and am working on) which is used in some special process for final finished of printed circuit boards, by far not in such big scale as those I mentioned above, but already about 10 million m² boards per year are finished that way.
You name the field and there will be applications for nanomaterials: from the semiconductor industry (core-shell NPs) to medicine (drug reservoir, core-shell for killing cancer).
