Unfortunately, I am not allowed to tell you some applications on which we are working in our lab.
However, the best I can do is to give you this information. On next 2-4 september 2015 will be held at the University of Bolton (UK) the FTT-2015: the 7th Future Technical Textiles international symposium.
The main theme of the symposium this year is: "“Recent Advances in Innovation and Enterprise in Textiles and Clothing”. Exactly what you are asking for.
Here is the programme of the different sessions for the Section 3 which is entitled: Smart and interactive textiles ... sounds quite familiar to you, right ? :)
3. Smart and Interactive Textiles
3.1. Intelligent textiles and clothing. 3.2.Wearable electronics and photonics. 3.3. Formation of electrical circuits in textile structures. 3.4. Conductive textile materials. 3.5. Clothing bio- sensory engineering including piezoelectric smart materials. 3.6. Solar textiles: production and distribution of electricity coming from solar radiation. 3.7. Engineering textile and clothing aesthetics using shape changing materials. 3.8. Shape memory polymer films for breathable textiles. 3.8. Development of shape memory alloy fabrics for composite structures. 3.9. Textile micro system technology. 3.10. Auxetic, hydrochromic, thermochromic and Photochromic.
Each session is animated by between 2 and 4 conferences from specialists in the field.
The registration fees are 200 euros before May 31, and 380 euros after.
