I'm looking for more literature evidence useful in treating trigger finger. However, one article show that laser therapy maybe helpful in treatment finger but there is a lack of randomization and controls.

I've tried shockwave therapy in a small number of patients with sucess ! no more complaints or signs (follow up 1 year) .
My preferred way of treatment for trigger finger is steroid injection.The results are so good that I will be never temtated for looking for other modalities.
many methods you can use for this problem ( steroid injection and after that splint , PRP and splint , high power laser and massage ...) but most important part of treatment is selection of patient ( Diabetic ,hypothyroidism and even work of patient)

Does stretching and splint positioning work for trigger finger along with ultrasound therapy?
Paraffin Bath, Ultrasound Therapy , steroid injection and splinting are effective modalities.

The current evidence supports the use of corticosteroid injection as a first line treatment for trigger finger.
Corticosteroid injection is better compared to physiotherapy in the treatment of mild trigger fingers but Physiotherapy may have a role in prevention of recurrence.
For the treatment of pediatric trigger finger, it is advisable to fit a static splint at the first visit. Ultrasound therapy is effective as well.
Triamcinolone may have a more rapid but ultimately less durable effect on idiopathic trigger finger than does Dexamethasone. Although steroids give quicker relief, NSAID injections are equally effective at 3 months in the treatment of trigger digits.
I have found US therapy very effective in early stages of Trigger finger. Just 3 to 4 sittings of 5 minutes each are enough. Need to add gentle finger mobility exercises to this to get long lasting effect.
Ask the patient whether he or she places the palm between the head and the pillow while sleeping. If the answer is yes the treatment is obvious, stop the habit, it is not difficult.
In the first line the use of corticosteroid injection should be tried. As second step Ultrasound therapy in combination with taping (also lymph-tape) and myofasciale release technique, while very effective, could be started. My experience shows that, unfortunatelly, the most of patients with trigger finger need a surgical procedere, finally.
I agree entirely with Dr. Marina Ninkovic. Conservative treatment (US, laser, corticosteroids, etc.) may give a temporary relief. Why should we neglect the surgical release (simple procedure !) as a first line treatment which is successful in almost all cases. I would not hesitate to go the right way, and would not look for a winding path that would lead me finally again to the right way.
Considering the risks involved in any surgery, it is advisable to try the non-invasive conservative treament first.
I do not see any particular risks related to the decompressive surgery of trigger finger syndrome. It is performed under local anesthesia and takes a few minutes. The effect is positive in almost all patients. Especially in patients with pathological (degenerative) changes in the tendon itself ( not in the tendon sheath !) surgical release is the first line of treatment.
We've been using focused shockwave (eswt) sucessfully in our practice.
we have tried short intermittent laser therapy in triger finger and it works in majority of cases.--better to combine with high frequency ultrasound physiotherapy.
