It has been shown that most countries and areas affected were located within parallel 22. It has been established that heat has an effect on the spread capabilities of COVID, but what about symptoms and disease progression in general? Also, it seems that areas with even colder weathers were not as affected, could it be related to the virus spreading effectively within a range of temperature and humidity?

Dear Martijn Jurjen Hoogeveen , I do not support the idea of pollen. From the article, it is not entirely obvious how pollen and respiratory infections can be related. According to the figure, I see that on a timeline, there is first a jump in flu-like diseases, then a decline in diseases and an increase in pollen levels. Given a two-week time lag (from infection to the onset of flu symptoms), it can be concluded that influenza affects pollen (a joke). Perhaps I did not understand the work and I am mistaken. It is also obvious that flowering is directly dependent on changes in temperature and humidity.

In this quick research, the temporal sequentiality was already tested. With a 1 week (incubation) shift, correlations get stronger. Further, on a logarithmic scale, the sequentiality (pollen -> low incidence of flu) is visually easier to see. Working on an extended research paper with more clarifications. The logarithmic relation makes sense, as it seems not to be about peak values of pollen, but about passing a relatively low threshold value. A kind of switching value in the pollen/flu seasonality. Will clarify those value(s) further in the next paper.

I agree with most of the views expressed above, although I suggest placing more emphasis on atmospheric boundary layer stratification and solar UV radiation measurements at the surface.
