Looking to connect with any research, papers or groups using remotely triggered stereo cameras to create 3 dimensional pictures of wildlife and gather data on cryptic species. Wanting to set up a system similar to the BRUV (baited remote underwater video) but for terrestrial systems, possible using a downward facing camera?
I'm thinking someone out there is probably already doing this?

As a matter of fact this idea did cross my mind as well, I had planned a similar project about a year back, primarily focussing on creation of a 3-dimensional view of the Sunderbans biodiversity in the Indian Sub-continent, although due to lack of motivation and resources the project had to be dropped and substituted with a more feasible project. I am much curious and excited to learn more about your project. Please do share.
