Anyone knows a software that could measure a histogram peak position or "mode" and could be used in a script to extract the values?
The image is a T1-weighted MRI and would like to have the peak position extracted from a mask delineated on the T1 image.

Histogram analysis can be applied to dynamic susceptibility contrast (DSC) perfusion MR imaging datasets and can be as effective as traditional region-of-interest (ROI) measurements of relative cerebral blood volume (rCBV), an operator-dependent method. We compare the routine ROI method with histogram analysis in the grading of glial neoplasms.

There must be plenty. Matlab is one, probably python has libraries for that as well....

Easy with fsl's fslstats:
fslstats [preoptions] [options]
relevant options:
-r : output
-R : output
-k : use the specified image (filename) for masking - overrides lower and upper thresholds
-h : output a histogram (for the thresholded/masked voxels only) with nbins
-H : output a histogram (for the thresholded/masked voxels only) with nbins and histogram limits of min and max
This can be easily implemented in a script
