I would like to include LCA as additional tool for my research and papers. Looking for someone dealing with polymers and composites to cooperate and learn a bit.
I am a PhD student who applies the LCA methodology to different biotechnological processes. I have recently written an article, which is being reviewed by the journal, on the production of a PLA biopolymer obtained from the revalorization of an agro-industrial waste stream.
Dear Aleksander, I do not know in what depth of analysis are you interested in LCA as an additional tool for your research and papers (what are the other tools of synergistic consideration?). However, I add to this discussion by noting an indicative-integrated-academic point of view for LCA-based procedures that should be determined as:
-technological side, referring to polymers-composites recovery, regeneration, and potential of reuse,
-energy side, referring to energy demands in alignment with energy recovery systems within all LCA-based procedures involved,
-economics side, referring to points of polymers' collection, transportation, production, commercial upgrading, as well as distribution of final or processed products to end-users/polymers market.
Lastly, the social dimension, cohesion or opposition, to LCA-based procedures cannot be undermined in-field applications/real world conditions
