I'm looking for tips to prepare a good batch (good reproducibility) of 14C standard for QWBA study. So far we are using image calibration method using 14C-spiked blood standards at concentrations bracketing the sensitivity of phosphor-imaging plates, but this kind of standard are really fragile.

The 14C blood standards are the best standards to use however, like you pointed out , they can be fragile, so plastic standards that can be purchased from American Radiolabelled Chemicals can be purchased but they should be re-calibrated against 14C-blood standrds made in your own lab because the values reported by ARC for the standards can be off by >25%.
